Baron Exu is the
Instigator and Summoner of these Barons. Having lived in the
house by
the cemetery while suffering severe heartache and loss, Baron Exu sat
down with his acoustic 12 string and steel guitar to transfer the pain
into some kind of release. After hours of trying to record
the
emotional barrage that was flooding out of him , despite the neighbor
upstairs banging on the ceiling, he managed to commit to tape at least
one take of each song. The resulting songs were aching, twangy,
dark,
if not depressing. Falling somewhere between delta country
blues
.with a voodoo swampy feel, 2 sets of music were
captered At the
time Baron Exu was playing in an ensemble he had put together called
Silent Gathering. Years passed as he moved from Silent Gathering to
join Down All Days which became Windwalker, until finally while playing
in Windwalker Exu formed The Technicians, then Windwalker broke
up. So
approximately 12 years later the songs basically untouched (Silent
Gathering and Windwalker played a couple)Exu summoned up some more
Barons he had met along the winding path to join in his quest to infuse
these cemetery blues with the energy of the Guede
family(Voudou Loa
of the cemetery).
