-Slide Guitar and Harmonica

I play slide guitar and harmonica in the band, 'Les Barons.' In the past I was an athlete who dropped out in '69' (graduated high school) and moved from my home town, Vernon to Vancouver. There I grew my hair and got a job and hung out on the weekends with the hippies at the bars in Gastown and dropped more stuff and went to my first Rock concert, Steppenwolf. Saw all the bands I liked in a six month period. Did not see The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin or The Doors though. Meanwhile I picked up the Jews Harp, the Harmonica and the Guitar in that order. I used to play the Jaw Harp to Led Zepplin man. Lived in the West End when it was still full of old houses and young Hippies. One person I met who does not want me to ever mention him in my articles (we get along like oil and water) became my partner in music off and on for the next thirty years. We formed a band called, BUZZ SAW that got real popular fast and broke up soon after and rejoined many times over the years, but never got passed the C-Room circuit. After one such breakup I teamed up with a Bass player and a Drummer and we called ourselves, NO REGRETS and played for a year at the notorious PENTHOUSE. Played on the Sunday before Joe got shot and decided not to play on Monday out of respect. Little did I know it was business as usual and I missed my chance for national exposure on TV. DOH! You know they would have checked out the band upstairs! BUZZ SAW was resurected in LA after that. The Drummer Mike Moran grew up there and his best friend was Ricky Nelson. They went to school together and hung out. Mike joined the military and was a drummer boy for the USO. One time he got to sit in with Little Richard in Seattle when Jimi Hendrix was in the band. Long story short I did the odd three piece gig with whoever I could get whenever I had the urge and I kept on wood-sheddin' it all this time and eventually met Exu. He was with The TECHNICIANS and they rehearsed upstairs and I lived right below them in the basement. One day after going for a walk and playing my harmonica I went upstairs to show Exu a new riff and he was working on a new song called, 'House By The Cemetery.' The rest is history in the making. Stay tuned for the great adventures of, 'LES BARONS.' This band is a keeper.
